Description
This color of chaps is so popular that I have to keep this leather in stock. This rich dark “chocolate” leather is as soft and comfortable as it looks, even the name of the color (Chocolate) is inviting. When making a pair of chaps, I always try to envision where they might be worn- the circumstances- I see these being worn on Sundays, at horse shows, or some other spacial occasion; not to say that you wouldn’t want to wear them everyday- but there is nothing wrong with having an everyday pair, AND a dress pair. This fine soft 3-4 oz. chap leather will make you fall in love with leather all over again. The color combination of the dark chocolate, and the natural finished yolk allows each color to support the other without competing. The brass conches add to the richness of the chocolate, but if you are partial to silver- trust me- the chaps still look great!
Chaps
Chaps, or Chinks (from the name “Chinkaderos”), are sometimes referred to as a half, or 3/4 chap, stops three or four inches below the knee and typically has four to six inches of fringe. It is cooler, and therefore desirable in warmer climates, or during the summer months. With fringes, and the looser fit, it is popular with the rodeo cowboys and adds to the spectacle of the cowboy on a bucking bronc!
